We made this website to get in touch with people who like the Pyrenean Mountaindog and Cão da Serra da Estrela
Jacqueline and Edwin Claessens, from Espel (Holland). We have here room to keep several dogs. We bought our first dog, a Bernese Mountain Dog, in 1991. Our first Pyrenean Mountain Dog came in 2000 and our first Cão da Serra da Estrela was bought in 2005. In 1998, we set up "Kennel van de Hienderheuvel". The Dutch Kennel Club registered us officially in 1998, and by obtaining a KK-1 certificate, (Dog-Breeding Knowledge certificate, needed to start a kennel) we succeeded in establishing more than one line of pedigree within a year. But this will not happen often. In 2005 we stopped breeding Bernese Mountain Dogs. The health of this breed has became a too big of a problem. Our pets stayed of course.
